Bobcat Weekend Wrap-up - October 3, 2021

It was a great week for the athletic programs. The women’s volleyball team defeated Florida Gateway College and Florida State College at Jacksonville by scores of 3-0. The team is currently battling for one of the top six playoff spots in the Sun-Lakes Conference with nine games remaining.

The women’s cross-country team was back in action at the Florida State University Open in Tallahassee on Friday.  The Bobcats were the only junior college program racing against the top NCAA Division I and II programs in the country.

The women’s volleyball team (12-11) season came to an end at the Sun-Lakes Conference tournament held at Lake Sumter State College this past week. The Bobcats defeated Itawamba Community College (MS) in a nail-biting five set match in the first round.

Haimes named Defensive Player of the Week

Bobcat Volleyball player Mariella Haimes was named NJCAA DII Region 8 Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week for two consecutive weeks. She averaged 7.2 digs over nine set and had 45 digs vs. Eastern Florida State College last Friday.

Linsey Christianson Selected as NJCAA Region 8 D2 Defensive Player of the Week

Sophomore volleyball player Linsey Christianson from Hudson, Fla. was named NJCAA Region 8 Division II Defensive Player of the Week.  Christianson averaged 7.8 digs over nine sets in two matches, recorded a pair of entries into the 25-Dig Club with  31 digs in a five-set win vs.
