The women’s volleyball team opened Sun-Lakes Conference play by defeating Palm Beach State College 3-0 on Saturday, September 2 at the West Campus. The win improved the Bobcats to 3-2 overall. Kylie Ciani led the team with 12 kills followed by Elizabeth McDonald’s 11 kills. Elena Castill-Wetzell had 22 digs in the match. The team returns to conference play at St. Petersburg College on Wednesday, September 6. Also, Pasco-Hernando State will host the Bobcat Invitation Friday and Saturday with Andrew College (GA), Richard Bland College (VA), Kansas City Kansas CC (KS) and Morton College (IL) participating. Friday’s matches are at 1 p.m. (AC) and 5 p.m. (RBC). Saturday matches will be 12 p.m. (KCK) and 2 p.m. (MC).
Women and Men’s Cross-Country
The women and men’s cross-country teams opened their 2023 season with third place finishes at the Fire Invitational in Lakeland. Nathalia Mallo led the women with a 5K (3.1 miles) time of 21:32 and Tom Palamar led the men with an 8K (4.97 miles) time of 28:36. Both teams will travel to the Southern Showcase (Huntsville, AL) on Friday, September 15. The women’s soccer team fell to 0-3 on the season falling to USC-Lancaster 2-0 in Daytona Beach. The Bobcats will travel to Pensacola State this weekend to open regional play. Friday’s match will be at 6 p.m. (CST) and Saturday at 10 a.m. (CST).
