Men and Women's Cross Country
The Women's Cross Country team dominated the NJCAA division at the Southern Showcase in Huntsville, AL. on Friday, September 13. The top five runners averaged 21:14 for the 5K (3.1 miles) over the rolling hill course. Emelyn Lacour (19:37) and Nathalia Mallo (19:38) led the team followed by Carlie Ortiz (21:17), Alanta Lofton (21:23) and Jaiden Wickert (21:50).
The men’s cross country team was led by Jaime Candelaria who a 27:11 on the 8K course. Candelaria was followed by Dylan Powell (27:22), Brady Pavlica (28:31) and Nehemia Morales (28:55).
The teams will be back in action at the Florida State University Pre-Regionals on September 27. In other news, the cross country teams will be participating in the Keep Pasco Beautiful Cleanup on Saturday. The athletic department Adopt-a-Road is a stretch along Moon Lake Road.
Women's Volleyball
The women’s volleyball team (3-10, 2-3) fell to 9th-ranked Gulf Coast State 3-0 and 10th-ranked Pensacola State (3-2) on the road this past weekend. The team hopes to bounce back on Wednesday, September 18, when they host St. Petersburg College at 6 p.m.
Women's Soccer
The women’s soccer team (2-3, 0-2) lost two important regional matches at Pensacola State College falling 5-1 on Friday, September 13, and 4-1 on Saturday. The team returns to action hosting Daytona State on Sunday, September 22, at 3 p.m.
