We hope everyone is safe from Hurricane Milton and our thoughts are with those that are still feeling effects from the loss of power, flooding, destruction and much more. As predicted, all games were cancelled last week and there is still some uncertainty when some of the games will be made up.
Women's Volleyball
The women’s volleyball team (7-11, 6-4) is scheduled to travel to St. Petersburg College on Wednesday October 16, but that may be rescheduled or moved to our gymnasium. SPC's college is closed through Tuesday and activities have been canceled. The home game against State College of Florida is questionable for Friday as their campus was hit extremely hard by Hurricane Milton.
Women's Soccer
The women’s soccer team (2-6, 0-2) will return to action hosting Pensacola State College on Thursday, October 17 at 4 p.m. and Friday at 10 a.m. The matches will be played at Wesley Chapel District Park.
Women's Softball
The women’s softball team is currently scheduled to host St. Petersburg College on Friday, October 18 at 3 p.m., but that may be changed.
Men's Baseball
The men’s basketball team will scrimmage Forges Sports Academy on Saturday, October 19 at 12 p.m. This is the first of three scrimmages before the team opens the season on November 5th. The men’s baseball team has cancelled their games this week with St. Petersburg College and Polk State College.
Men and Women's Cross Country
In other news, congratulations to Jacki Waller, our women’s cross country coach who completed the Chicago Marathon in 3:17:54. Jacki averaged 7:27/mile for the 26.2-mile race. Also, former Bobcat Tom Palamar (2022-2024) ran an incredible 2:26:09 averaging 5:36/mile. Tom placed 82nd overall and 7th in his age group. The marathon had approximately 50,000 runners in the event.
