Women’s Volleyball Team Shines In Doubleheader Against USC Lancaster and Santa Fe College
The Bobcats continued their road trip with key wins over USC Lancaster and Santa Fe College.
On August 29, PHSC travelled to Gainesville, FL to compete in a doubleheader against NJCAA Region 10 opponent USC Lancaster and FCSAA DI Santa Fe College.
In the first match, the Bobcats secured a sweep over the Lancers with a 3-0 victory. In the last match of the day, PHSC got the upper hand in a 3-1 win over the Saints.
With those two wins, the Women’s Volleyball Team enter the week with a 5-3 overall record and ranked third in the Sun-Lakes Conference. The Bobcats will take on Hillsborough College in Tampa, FL on September 2, with a 6 p.m. EST start.
Women’s Soccer Team Loses Close Match to Polk State College In Home Opener
The Women’s Soccer team begins the 2026-27 season with a loss after being defeated by Polk State College 2-1 on Friday, August 28.
Polk State would strike first in the half despite being limited to two shots on goal by the Bobcats’ defense. Entering the second half, Isabella O’Sullivan would make it a 2-0 lead for the Eagles at the 40:15 mark.
With twenty minutes left in the match, Jesse Joseph scored the Bobcats’ only goal from an inside pass by Amaya Rodriguez. Despite the jumpstart on offense for PHSC, the Bobcats failed to capitalize afterwards, losing the match in a 2-1 final.
PHSC kicks off the season 0-1, but plan to come back strong as they finish their series at Polk State College on September 5 at 11 a.m. EST.
FCSAA Recognizes Academic Success from PHSC Athletics, 52 Student-Athletes on All-Academic Teams
The Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA) recently announced its 2025-26 all-academic teams.
A total of 52 student-athletes participating in FCSAA programs were recognized for achieving a minimum 3.30 GPA on a 4.00 scale during the 2025-26 academic year.
