Men’s Basketball Team Starts Season Strong with 2-1 Record at Home

The Men’s Basketball Team starts the season strong at home with a 2-1 record under the direction of new head coach Phil Gaffney.

On November 3, PHSC dominated their season opener, winning 105-63 against Trinity College of Florida. The win solidified Phil Gaffney’s first head coaching win with the Bobcats.  

On November 5, PHSC faced Santa Fe College in a game that ended in a 90-63 loss, marking their first defeat of the 2025-26 season.

The Bobcats rebounded with a victory over West Bay Collegiate Academy on November 7, putting up a final score of 151-49. The highest margin of victory thus far for PHSC this season with a 102 point difference.

The team will be on a five-game road trip before coming back to the West Campus on December 1. Their next game is against St. Petersburg College on November 11 at 7 p.m. at Gibbs Campus in St. Petersburg.

Women’s Volleyball Players Receive DII All-Sun Lakes Conference Team Honors

PHSC Athletics is excited to announce that two of our players have been honored with Women’s Volleyball DII All-FCSAA Team selections.

Members of the FCSAA Second Team All-Sun Lakes Conference were announced on November 6 in Fort Pierce, Florida.

Among the twelve inducted, Kayden Barber and Sydney Freyer from PHSC were selected. Once again, congratulations to our fellow players for an incredible season.

Catcher Juan Lopez Commits to University of New Orleans

PHSC Athletics is excited to announce that Juan Lopez has committed to the University of New Orleans!

Notably, Juan Lopez was a member of the Men’s Baseball team that secured the 2025 NJCAA DII World Series Title last season.

As a catcher, he had a breakout season that included multiple accolades, such as being named the Most Outstanding Player at the FCSAA DII Baseball Championship, being selected to the FCSAA DII All-Tournament Team and being named a NJCAA DII Honorable Mention All-American.

Men’s & Women’s Cross Country Teams Perform Well at NJCAA DII Cross Country Championships

The Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Teams competed in chilly and muddy conditions at the NJCAA DII Cross Country Championships in Fort Dodge, Iowa. The event was held at the Lakeside Golf Course with temperatures in the low thirties.

On November 8, the Men’s Cross Country Team competed in the 8K race, coming into the race ranked ninth and securing a remarkable 13th-place finish out of 46 Division II schools. The Women’s Cross Country Team demonstrated their prowess by placing in the top-25 in the 5K race, securing a commendable 23rd-place finish out of 44 Division II schools.

Isabella Quinlan, individually, was the fastest runner for the Lady Bobcats, securing the 84th position with a time of 21:52 on the 5K course. Malik Millet, representing the Men’s Team, achieved the highest ranking among team members, finishing in 40th place on the 8K course with a time of 28:04.
