Men’s Basketball
The men’s basketball team defeated Florida Gateway College 72-71 in Lake City to advance to the NJCAA DII South Atlantic District Tournament in North Carolina on April 8-10. Florida Gateway had claimed home court advantage for the NJCAA Region 8 Championship after defeating the Bobcats 3 out of 4 during the regular season," said Steve Winterling, Athletics Director. JaKeese Kemp returned to early season form dropping in 23 points to lead all scorers. Orien Adams and Warren McLymont added 17 and 15 points respectfully.
Women’s Volleyball
The women’s volleyball team will open the Sun-Lakes Conference Championship as the #3 seed against #6 Itawamba Community College (MS) at 2: p.m. on Thursday, April 1. The three day-single elimination tournament is hosted by Lake Sumter State College in Leesburg. The winner of the tournament advances to the National Tournament in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Men's Baseball
Bobcat baseball is currently 20-18 on the season having won eight of their last 10 games. The team lost a heartbreaker to #6 Santa Fe College on a three-run home run in the top of the ninth inning Friday but bounced back to defeat #4 State College of Florida soundly 13-7 on Saturday. The team hosts IMG Academy on Tuesday, March 30 at 3 p.m. and Florida Southwestern College on Friday, March 31 at 2 p.m.
Women’s Softball
The women’s softball team (11-15) returns to action this week traveling to Santa Fe College on Thursday and having their home finale Saturday, April 3 against Thomas University JV (NAIA) at 2 p.m. "It was another great week for Bobcat Athletics,' said Winterling.
