Men's and Women's Cross Country - Women's Cross Country
Our women’s cross-country team claimed the NJCAA/FCSAA DII Region 8 championship for the sixth time in seven years at Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee on Friday, October 28, 2022. The team totaled 31 points ahead of Daytona State College (61) and Florida Gateway College (73). Gabrielle Marshall led the Bobcats with a second-place finish in a time of 20:19.2 and teammates Shelby Viseur (20:40) tied for fourth place and Alexi Amer (20:48) finished sixth to make the All-NJCAA/All-FCSAA Region 8 team.
Head coach Jacki Wachtel was named NJCAA/FCSAA Region 8 Coach of the Year. This is Wachtel's sixth award.
Men's Cross Country
The inaugural men’s cross-country team finished in third place with 79 points as Daytona State took the championship with 21 points followed by Lake Sumter State College (53). Luis Cruzado was the top Bobcat runner with a ninth-place finish. Luis ran the 8K course in 27:41 and teammate Tom Palamar finished eleventh with a time of 27:42.
Both teams will prepare for a return trip to Tallahassee for the 2022 NJCAA DI/DII Cross Country Championships on November 12 followed by the NJCAA Half Marathon Championships on November 15, 2022.
