Women’s Cross-Country

The women’s cross-country team was back in action at the Florida State University Open in Tallahassee on Friday.  The Bobcats were the only junior college program racing against the top NCAA Division I and II programs in the country. Instead of the usual 5K (3.1 miles) race, the women ran a 6K (3.73 miles) on the beautiful Apalachee Regional Park course. Brigham Young University ranked #1 in the country and won the race with a team average of 20:42.  The Bobcats placed 28th out of 29 teams with a time of 27:27.  This was a tremendous experience for our team.

Men’s Baseball

The men’s baseball team started their fall season by defeating Polk State and a travel ball team. Florida Southwestern State will visit the Bobcats on Saturday for a noon doubleheader.

The women’s volleyball team battled South Florida State and Palm Beach State in Sun-Lakes Conference action over the weekend. The Bobcats fell 3-2 (25-17, 25-14, 25-27, 10-25, 12-25) on Friday in Avon Park and lost (25-17, 19-25, 16-25, 25-23, 11-15) on Saturday. The team will travel to St. Johns River State and Lake Sumter State next weekend.
