It was a great week for the athletic programs. The women’s volleyball team defeated Florida Gateway College and Florida State College at Jacksonville by scores of 3-0. The team is currently battling for one of the top six playoff spots in the Sun-Lakes Conference with nine games remaining. This week, Lake Sumter State visits on Wednesday, October 6 and St. Petersburg College on Friday, October 8. Both matches begin at 6 p.m. on the West Campus.

Women’s Cross-Country

The women’s cross-country team was the top NJCAA team at the Florida Runners.com Invitational in Lakeland on Friday. The Bobcats finished fifth overall in a team average of 22:23 edging out Florida Gateway College (22:30). Kylie Kanaar ran the 5k course in 21:28 to lead the Bobcat runners.

Men’s Baseball

The men’s baseball team defeated Lake Sumter State College in Leesburg on Saturday by scores of 8-1 and 7-6. The next home game is scheduled for October 22 against Lake Sumter.

Women’s Softball

The women’s softball team will travel to Lake Sumter on Saturday, October 9 for a 1 p.m. doubleheader before returning home to host a travel ball team on Sunday at 1 p.m.

Men’s Basketball

The men’s basketball team started their official practice season on Friday. The team is preparing for the Tallahassee Community College Jamboree on October 10, 2021.
