Women’s Soccer Splits Games Against St. Leo & USC Lancaster
The Women’s Soccer Team continues playoff push amid mixed results as the season winds down. The Lady Bobcats produced their second draw of the season against St. Leo University JV on October 10, with a final score of 2-2. Notably, Annalisse Vizza and Ashlynn Knighten scored for PHSC in the late-night contest.
On October 11, PHSC took on USC Lancaster, losing 6-1. Ashlynn Knighten scored the single goal for the Lady Bobcats.
The team currently has a 4-5-2 record and will face Pensacola State College in a two-game series on October 17 and 18. The match will be held at 6 p.m. EST on Friday and 10 a.m. EST on Saturday. Both will be held at the Wesley Chapel District Park.
Women’s Volleyball Snaps Four-Game Losing Streak With Win At FSCJ, Loses Against St. John’s River State College
The Women’s Volleyball Team snapped a four-game losing streak this past weekend with a decisive victory over FSCJ, winning 3-0 on Friday, October 10.
On Saturday, October 11, the Lady Bobcats suffered a shutout loss against the Vikings of St. John’s River State College, losing 3-0. They now sit with a 7-15 overall record and 5-11 conference record.
Their next match is against St. Petersburg College at the West Campus in Building K on October 15 with a start time of 6 p.m. EST.
Men & Women Cross Country Teams Finish Season Strong At FGC Invitational
The Men and Women Cross Country Teams finished the regular season strong at the FGC Invitational on October 10.
The Men’s Cross Country Team was able to secure the team title, placing first among JUCO colleges. Individually, they also stood out with Malik Millet (third), Brady Pavlica (fourth), Zachary Townsend (sixth) and Dylan Powell (seventh) finishing in the top ten.
The Women’s Cross Country Team also produced an impressive turnout, finishing third among JUCO colleges on the 5K course. Individually, the team placed Isabella Quinlan (third) and Kammy Enerson (sixth) in the top ten.
The Bobcats will now head to the FCSAA Regional Meet on October 24. It will be held at the Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee, Florida.
PHSC Makes Standout Appearance at All-Star Game
Congratulations to our selected Bobcats who participated in the FCSAA All-Star Game this weekend at Publix Field at Joker Marchant Stadium in Lakeland, Florida. These individuals include Nick Koorse, FCSAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player Juan Lopez, Isaac Palacios, NJCAA All-Tournament Team Member Gavin Zassenbraker, NJCAA DII World Series MVP Braden Durfee, Racco DeMarinis and Nick Cucchi.
Notably, Gavin Zassenbraker started for the Sun-Lakes Conference and had a 1-2-3 innings to start the game.
Bobcats Giving Back to The Community
PHSC over the weekend volunteered over 150 hours to help a struggling family in need move houses. We thank them for allowing us to help and show pride in giving back to our fellow neighbors of the community.
