Men's Baseball
The Bobcats (29-9 Overall; 16-2 Sun-Lakes Conference) opened the week, dropping their road matchup to Hillsborough Community College last Tuesday, March 25, 3-2, in 10 innings. The Bobcats swept their weekend conference slate against #11 South Florida State College on Friday, March 28, 11-1 in seven innings, and on Saturday’s doubleheader, 4-2 and 12-4.
The Bobcats are now the #1 team in the most recent NJCAA Division 2 rankings, the first time ever that the program has achieved a top spot in the rankings.
Outfielder Bradon Durfee had a strong weekend at the dish against the Panthers, finishing 7-11 across the three-game series with a double, home run and five RBIs.
Michael Savarese earned his fifth FCSAA D2 Pitcher of the Week honor of the season last week, sixth of his career. In his start against Florida State College at Jacksonville on Friday, March 21, Savarese entered the seventh with a perfect game, finishing his performance only allowing one hit and striking out nine.
The Bobcats are back at home beginning Tuesday, April 1, against P-27 Academy at 6 p.m. The Cats head on the road on Friday, April 4th against Lake-Sumter State College at 1 p.m. before returning home to take on the LakeHawks on Saturday afternoon at 1 and 4 p.m.
Women's Softball
The Bobcats (21-22 Overall; 6-9 Sun-Lakes Conference) split their doubleheader against Augustana JV last Tuesday, 12-11 loss and 13-5 win. The Cats fell in their series opener to Florida State College at Jacksonville on Friday, 9-6. PHSC would sweep Saturday’s doubleheader against the Manta Rays, 2-0 and 6-5.
The Bobcats return to action on Friday, April 4 on the road against South Florida State College at 3 p.m. The Cats wrap up the three-game series on Saturday at home against the Panthers at 1 & 3 p.m.
Women's Flag Football
PHSC Women’s Flag Football team (1-12; 0-2) return to action this week for the team’s first ever home game against Daytona State College on Wednesday, April 2 at 6:30 p.m.
