Competition Heats Up in both Men's Baseball and Women's Softball - Come out and watch some exciting NJCAA baseball and softball at the West Campus this week!
Men's Baseball
The men’s baseball team (22-10, 2-1) opened Sun-Lakes Conference play at Florida State College at Jacksonville over the weekend. After a tough 8-7 loss in the Friday opener, the Bobcats bounced back by sweeping the Blue Wave 6-3 and 8-7 on Saturday. Homeruns by James Strom, David Stockley and Chay Yeager keyed the Bobcats 8-7 comeback win. The team will travel to University of Tampa JV on Tuesday before Palm Beach State College (23-8, 2-1) visits Friday and Saturday. Both teams are battling for first place in the conference.
Women's Softball
The women’s softball team (19-13) defeated Lake Region State College (North Dakota) by scores of 11-2 and 4-1 last Thursday. Games against Santa Fe College and Thomas University JV were rained out. The team will host Morton College (Ill.) in a 1 p.m. doubleheader on Saturday. They will begin DII play against Florida State College at Jacksonville on Saturday, April 2.
