Men’s Basketball Team Wins Sixth Straight Game Over FSC Elite, Falls Short Against Palm Beach State College in Honorable Effort
The Men’s Basketball Team delivered strong performances in both their non-conference and conference contests last week as the second half of the season begins.
On January 21, PHSC took on FSC Elite, winning 125-70. With the victory, the Bobcats produced their sixth win in a row before entering conference play and improving to a 9-12 overall record.
On January 24, the Bobcats traveled to Palm Beach State College (21-1) for their first conference game of the season. The Bobcats put up a strong effort, leading the #1 team in the nation for nearly thirty minutes before falling short in the end and losing 79-71. The result marked the second lowest point differential (8 points) in either a win or loss this season. PHSC sits currently with a 9-13 overall record and 0-1 conference record.
The Bobcats will now face Florida State College Of Jacksonville (14-6) and compete in their first conference home game on Wednesday, January 28. The game is scheduled for 6 p.m. EST.
Men’s Baseball Team Drops Game with Northwest Florida, Bounces Back Against Miami Dade & SCF in 2026 SCF Legends Classic
The #1 Bobcats started the season with a 2-1 overall record after their performance in the 2026 SCF Legends Classic. On Friday, January 23, the Bobcats faced #20 Northwest Florida State College (3-0), losing 5-1 during the evening contest.
The following day, Saturday, January 24, PHSC took on Miami Dade College (1-2) and performed dominantly, winning 14-4 in seven innings. Strong pitching from Gavin Gargiulo and Derek Westfall combined with RBIs from Sebastian Berrios (4), Juan Lopez (4) and Michael Greenberg (2), led to the victory. Shortly after, PHSC then competed with SCF (0-3), winning 5-4 and ending the weekend with a 2-1 overall record, a two-game winning streak and sitting third in the Sun-Lakes Conference.
Their next scheduled game is January 27 against College of Central Florida (1-2). It will be played at Withlacoochee River Electric Co-Op Park on the West Campus. The expected start time is 2 p.m. EST.
Men’s Baseball Team Sits #1 in NJCAA Preseason Rankings
The Men’s Baseball Team was back on top with the NJCAA Baseball Preseason Rankings. Announced on January 20, PHSC led the pack with the #1 position followed by Pearl River (#2), East Central (#3), Heartland (#4) and Madison (#5) rounding out the top five.
PHSC won the NJCAA DII College World Series during the 2024-25 season. The Bobcats finished with a 52-10 overall record and their first national championship in program history.
