Women's Softball

The women’s softball team improved to 10-8 overall and 3-0 in the conference play after sweeping Florida State College at Jacksonville this weekend. The Bobcats took a doubleheader in Jacksonville on Saturday, February 24 by scores of 9-3 and 9-1 before returning home Sunday to defeat FSCJ 5-3. The team will host Point Park University on Wednesday, February 28 in a 2 p.m. doubleheader before opening a three-game set series with South Florida State College this Friday, March 1.

Men's Baseball

The men’s baseball team opened Sun-Lakes Conference play by sweeping South Florida State College. The series opened in Avon Park with the Bobcats coming out on fire thumping the Panthers 15-4 in six innings. The team pounded out 15 hits in the game led by Chris Arroyo who went 2 for 4 with a double, home run and 3 RBIs. The bats stayed hot on Saturday, February 24 as the Bobcats swept the Panthers in a doubleheader by scores of 11-0 in five innings and 10-2 in eight innings. Aiden Corn went 2 for 3 with a double and 5 RBIs to lead the hitters in game one as Chris Arroyo picked up the win on the mound.  In game two, Eddiel Tolentino went 2 for 5 with a double, home run and 4 RBIs to lead a 15-hit attack.  The Bobcats host Lincoln Land Community College (IL) on Wednesday, February 28 at 6 p.m. before hosting a three-game series against Palm Beach this weekend.

Men's Basketball

The men’s basketball team lost to Florida Gateway College in Wednesday’s home finale 78-73.  Xavier Gordon-Somers led the team with 18 points followed by Tyson Maxam’s 15 points. The team traveled to Palm Beach State College falling 88-59 on Saturday, February 24 in the final regular season game.  Xavier Gordon-Somers once again led the team with 19 points followed by Nicholas Pouliot. The Sun-Lakes Conference Tournament will take place this weekend at Palm Beach State.  The Bobcats will take on top-seed Florida State College at Jacksonville on Friday, March 1 at 4 p.m. The winner will advance to the championship game on Saturday against the Florida Gateway College/Palm Beach State College winner.
