Men's Baseball
The men’s baseball team (21-20, 11-10) defeated Hillsborough Community College 12-2 in non-conference action at George Steinbrenner Stadium last Tuesday. Chris Arroyo, Luke Dickerson and Anthony Cole each homered in the game. The Sun-Lakes Conference games didn’t fare so well as the Bobcats were swept by Palm Beach State in Lake Worth. The team fell 5-4 in 10 innings on Friday, April 5 before falling in Saturday’s doubleheader by scores of 5-3 and 11-1. A3 Academy visits the Bobcats on Tuesday for a 6 p.m. game and Florida State College of Jacksonville comes to town this weekend for conference games. The Friday game will start at 7 p.m. and Saturday’s doubleheader at 12 p.m.
Women's Softball
The women’s softball team (19-21, 10-11) lost two of three to South Florida State in Sun-Lakes Conference action. The team defeated the Panthers 9-5 in Avon Park on Friday. Mika Vaughn led the hitters going 3 for 4 with Kaitlyn Buckley and Jonayah Moeller each getting two hits in the game. Jayda Smith picked up the win pitching seven innings allowed three earned runs and striking out six. The Bobcats hosted South Florida on Saturday falling in the doubleheader by scores of 12-5 and 8-6. The team will host Florida Gateway College on Friday, April 12 at 1 p.m. in conference action before traveling to the Timberwolves on Saturday for a 12 p.m. doubleheader.
