PHSC men’s baseball team (32-21) advances to the NJCAA DII South Atlantic Tournament by defeating ASA College with scores of 9-6 and 16-6 in a best of three series last weekend. The District Tournament will run May 14-18 in Burlington, NC and this will be the programs eighth appearance in the past nine years. Last year’s tournament was cancelled due to COVID-19. The winner will advance to the College World Series in Enid, OK. More information on the brackets and opponents will be available next week.

The women’s softball team is also preparing for their trip to Burlington on May 14-15. They were able to add a couple of games on Saturday traveling to Webber University for a doubleheader. The Bobcats fell in game one 7-4 but came back to take the second game 2-0. Jasmin Fontela pitched a six-hit shutout and Tierra Riley led the hitters going 2 for 3 with a home run and RBI.

"I would also like to recognize our outstanding student-athletes for their community service. The softball, volleyball and basketball teams participated in our roadside clean-up project on Friday," said Steve Winterling, Athletics Director. "The athletic program adopted a one-mile portion of Moon Lake Road three years ago. The volleyball team did an additional clean-up in another area on Saturday. Good luck to our student-athletes as the compete and wrap up their spring classes."
