Women's Softball
The softball team (24-12, 6-6) had a great week winning three of four games including a split with conference leader Lake Sumter State College on the road. The Bobcats took the first game 6-2 behind another strong pitching performance by Emily Proctor (4-0) and lost game two by the score of 3-2 in eight innings. On Saturday, April 15, Florida State College at Jacksonville came to the West Campus. Emily Proctor (5-0) once again pitched five strong innings in the 9-1 win in game one. In game two, the Bobcats had to rally in the bottom of the seventh inning to win 4-3. The team will travel to South Florida State College on Tuesday, April 18 and wrap up the conference season hosting St. Johns River State College on Saturday, April 22. The top four teams in the conference meet in the tournament May 4-5 in Clermont. The Bobcats currently sit in second place three games behind Lake Sumter.
Men's Baseball
The men’s baseball team (34-12, 17-7) is currently tied with St. Johns River State in first place with six games remaining. After losing the first game at Florida State College 1-0, the team rebounded to take the doubleheader on Saturday, April 15 by scores of 14-4 and 4-3. The Bobcats have a three-game series with Lake Sumter State this weekend and wrap up conference play with a three-game set with St. Johns River. The winner of the Sun-Lakes Conference will host the tournament May 4-7.
