Men's Baseball
The men’s baseball team moved up one spot to number nine in last week’s NJCAA DII poll, but it was a tough week for the Bobcats losing two of three games against Palm Beach State College. Those losses along with St. Johns River sweeping Florida State College three games put both teams in a tie for first place. The Bobcats are 31-11 overall and 15-6 in conference with nine Sun-Lake Conference games remaining including the last three against St. Johns River. The team will play at the University of Tampa JV in non-conference action on Tuesday, April 11, before heading to Jacksonville to take on Florida State College (10-31, 5-16) in a three-game set this weekend.
Women's Softball
The women’s softball team (21-11, 3-5) had the week off and return to action at 19th ranked Lake Sumter State (34-14, 6-2) on Tuesday, April 11. The team will host Florida State College in a 2 p.m. doubleheader on Saturday, April 15. It’s a big week of conference play as the team currently sits one game ahead of St. Johns River for the final playoff spot. There are still eight more conference games remaining. Despite the week off, Emily Proctor was named Region 8 DII Softball Pitcher of the Week for her performances the week of March 27 to April 3. Proctor went 2-0 with 0.58 era in two games with 13 strikeouts in 12 innings of work.
