Men's Baseball
The men’s baseball team (20-17, 11-7) lost two of three conference games to South Florida State College over the weekend but remain in first place by one-half game over Lake Sumter State College. The Bobcats opened the series by winning 10-4 at WREC Park on Friday night. Chris Arroyo and Luke Dickerson each had three hits to lead the hitters and Mike Savarese improved to 6-2 on the mound with another solid performance. South Florida took the doubleheader at Avon Park on Saturday, March 30 by scores of 10-9 and 7-4. The team travels to Palm Beach State College for this weekend games.
Women's Softball
The women’s softball team (18-19, 9-9) had a great weekend sweeping Florida State College Jacksonville in their three-game series. The team traveled to Jacksonville on Friday, March 29 and defeated the Blue Wave 2-0. Jayda Smith picked up the win allowing only two hits and striking out eight. The Bobcats swept FSCJ at the West Campus on Saturday, March 30 by scores of 7-6 and 5-4. Valeria Rolon knocked in the game winner in both games. Rolon went 3 for 6 with 5 RBIs on the day. The team will travel to South Florida State on Friday before hosting the Panthers on Saturday, April 6 at 1 p.m. in a doubleheader.
