    Lee Rietsma started the PHSC men's cross country in 2022 after serving the previous six years as the assistant women's cross country coach.  In his first season, Rietsma led the Bobcats to a third place finish at the Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA) Region 8 Men's Cross Country Championship in Tallahassee.  The Bobcats finished the 2022 season with an impressive eleventh place finish at the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) National Championship in Tallahassee, FL.  In 2023, the men's team finished second in the FCSAA Region 8 Championship and twelfth in the NJCAA DII National Championship. Lee is dedicated to building a strong program that is competitive at the National level.  He is devoted to recruiting young men who want to continue their education and compete at the college level. Lee grew up in Grand Rapids, MI and now lives in Land O' Lakes.  His passion for running started in middle school and he competed in cross country championships all four years in high school.  As a post collegiate runner Lee still competes in distances 5K - Marathon. He received his USA Track & Field Level 1 Coaching Certification in May of 2013 and is currently working on his Level 2 Coaching Certification. 

    His most memorable accomplishments were finishing 2nd overall in the Space Coast Marathon with a time of 2:44:46. Lee has run 25 marathons including the Boston Marathon 8 times with a best time of 2:47:17.
