Greg Calder was previously on staff with NCAA DI Jacksonville University (JU). During his time there, Calder served as the first assistant coach and coordinated recruiting. His work with the midfielders and strikers helped shape freshman Lillian Young, who developed into the team’s most effective attacker and led to her being named to the Atlantic Sun Conference All-Freshman team.
Before his arrival at JU, Calder was leading the women’s soccer program at Trinity College of Jacksonville, where he spent the previous three seasons as the Head Coach. During his tenure, Calder was named the NCCAA South Region Coach of the Year and TCJ Coach of the Year, both in 2021. The Eagles won their first South Region Championship during that same year and played in the NCCAA National Tournament for the first time in program history. During the historic run, the team reached the semifinals and earned recognition with the Team Sportsmanship Award, granted by tournament officials. In 2020 and 2022, TCJ were South Region runners-up. While overseeing the program, four of his players earned NCCAA All-American honors and twelve garnered First Team All-Region honors.
Calder has coached club soccer throughout Florida, with the pinnacle being on staff for FC Barcelona's Escola, based in Florida. He was the only American-born coach selected into their competitive program coaching staff. He has also earned a National Diploma from the United Soccer Coaches organization.
Prior to his coaching career, Calder was a four-year starter at Palm Beach Atlantic. As a freshman, he recorded a school record of seventeen assists, a record that still stands to this day. He also competed in four consecutive NCCAA South Region Championships and was named First Team All-Region in both his junior and senior seasons.
Calder earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Palm Beach Atlantic and his master’s in counseling at Georgia State University.
