Men’s Basketball Team Snaps Five Game Losing Streak, Bobcats Win Against JUCO DI Program in 14 Years
The Men’s Basketball Team garnered a historic comeback against St. Petersburg College (2-5) on December 1 when they won 66-65 in the closing moments of the game. This marks the first time in 14 years that the Bobcats have won against a JUCO DI opponent.
Trailing 33-30 entering the second half, the offensive efforts of Ben Koubek, Malcom Warthen, Joesph Stosh and Jean Garcia, sealed the deal as they snapped a five game losing streak. With the victory, the Bobcats started with a 3-6 overall record entering the early stretch of December.
The following game, on December 3, PHSC took on Santa Fe College (8-1), losing 88-52 before their final game of the week. On Sunday, December 7, PHSC faced Hillsborough Community College (5-5) at the West Campus, putting up a valiant effort but falling short with a 97-72 loss.
The Bobcats will now face Tallahassee State College with a 3-8 overall record entering Wednesday, December 10. Game is scheduled for 6 p.m. EST.
